Simply click on a file to highlight it, and tap the space bar. This should open a preview of the file. The best part of QuickLook is that it can preview files you otherwise wouldn’t be able to open. PowerPoint, Photoshop, Excel files? No problem! Even without their aforementioned apps. I have given PowerPoint presentations on a Mac without PowerPoint in a pinch, just by using QuickLook.
